Club Championships for Open, B Grade and C Grade will be played over four rounds of stroke play. In the event of a tie in the gross events, a three-hole playoff (1, 2 & 18) will take place immediately following the conclusion of play on the fourth round. If however, scores are still tied a sudden death playoff will take place over the same three holes until a result is finalized. A count back will be used to determine all nett events. All players entering the Club Championships must have a current Australian Golf Union handicap. Motorised buggies will be permitted in this event. However, a player using a motorised buggy will not be eligible for gross score prizes in the Open division, unless prior approval for the use of a motorised buggy has been obtained from the Match Committee. The Club Championships will commence with the 1st round on Saturday 26/4/2008. The 2nd round will be played on 27/4/2008 with the 3rd and 4th rounds on the 3/5/2008 and 4/5/2008. A seeded draw will be conducted for the final round of each grade.
Open Division: The top sixteen 72-hole gross scores that wish to qualify will play off in the Club Matchplay Championship commencing with 36 holes Saturday 10/5/2008, 18 holes on Sunday 11/5/2008 and concluding in a 36-hole final on Saturday 17/5/2008. Handicap Division: The top sixteen 72-hole nett scores out of all grades that wish to qualify will play a Handicap Matchplay Championship. The handicap used during the Handicap Matchplay Championship will be the handicap of the player at the commencement of the Club Championship, not his current handicap. If you qualify for both open and handicap divisions, you must play in the open division. Players must nominate to compete in the Matchplay Championship when nominating for the Club Championships. Match play will commence on Saturday morning 10th May with the second round being played in the afternoon. i.e. The winners in the morning will playoff again in the afternoon.
To be played in conjunction with the 1st and 3rd rounds of the Club Championships. Trophies awarded for Gross events in (55-59), (60-64), (65-69), and (70+) divisions. Players are asked to nominate for the appropriate category by marking all their cards accordingly. In the event of a tie in any age group, a countback will be conducted by the Match Committee to decide the winner of the Senior Championships.
To be played in conjunction with the 2nd and 4th rounds of the Club Championships. Players are asked to nominate for the Junior Championship by marking all their cards accordingly. In the event of a tie in the gross event, a countback will be conducted by the Match Committee to decide the winner of the Junior Championships.
The Foursomes Championship will be played over 27 holes on Saturday 26/07/2008. Grades will be determined by dividing the field in half. Motor buggies permitted in Gross and Nett events. In the event of a tie, a countback will be conducted by the Match Committee to decide the winner of the Foursomes Championships.
The Mixed Foursomes Championship will be played over 27 holes on Sunday 29/6/2008. Motor buggies permitted in Gross and Nett events. In the event of a tie, a countback will be conducted by the Match Committee to decide the winner of the Mixed Foursomes.
Medal rounds are normally held on the first Saturday of every month. The Medal of Medals is played in conjunction with the March Monthly medal, 1/3/2008.
Single Stableford played 29/11/2008 followed by Presentation of Major Trophies and Dinner.
The Pegler Shield is donated by the Club in honour of the late Keith Pegler, past Club Patron and Club Captain 1956-64. The Pegler Shield shall be played as an Aggregate Stableford teams event of four on Saturday 15/3/2008. The ball run down will be allocated on the teams score.

Olympic Event, best aggregate points against par value, commencing with Stroke 8/11/2008, Stableford, with double points in the Single v Par round.
Qualifying round will be played on Saturday 31/05/2008 (16 pairs to qualify).

Single Stroke played 7/9/2008. Handicaps 4-18. In the event of a tie, a countback will be conducted by the Match Committee to decide the winner of the Southport Classic.
The most prestigious event on the calendar will be played Sunday 17/8/2008.
Handicaps 1-4 with possible ballot; 36-hole shotgun event. In the event of a tie in the gross events, a three-hole playoff (1, 2 & 18) will take place immediately following the conclusion of play.
