Golf : Honour Board Events

 CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS

Club Championships for Open, B Grade and C Grade will be played over four rounds of stroke play.   In the event of a tie in the gross events, a three-hole playoff (1, 2 & 18) will take place immediately following the conclusion of play on the fourth round.   If however, scores are still tied a sudden death playoff will take place over the same three holes until a result is finalized.   A count back will be used to determine all nett events.  All players entering the Club Championships must have a current Golf Australia handicap.   Motorised buggies will be permitted in this event.  However, a player using a motorised buggy will not be eligible for gross score prizes in the Open division, unless prior approval for the use of a motorised buggy has been obtained from the Match Committee.  The Club Championships will commence with the 1st round on Saturday 1/5/2010.  The 2nd round will be played in the morning field only on 2/5/2010 with the 3rd and 4th rounds on the 8/5/2010 and 9/5/2010.   A seeded draw will be conducted for the final round of each grade.

 MATCHPLAY CHAMPIONSHIP

Open Division: The top sixteen 72-hole gross scores that wish to qualify will play off in the Club Matchplay Championship commencing with 36 holes Saturday 15/5/2010 (round 1 in the morning and round two in the afternoon), 18 holes on Sunday 16/5/2010 and concluding in a 36-hole final on Saturday 22/5/2010. Handicap Division:  The top sixteen 72-hole nett scores out of all grades that wish to qualify will play a Handicap Matchplay Championship.   The handicap used during the Handicap Matchplay Championship will be the handicap of the player at the commencement of the Club Championship, not his current handicap.   If you qualify for both open and handicap divisions, you must play in the open division.   Players must nominate to compete in the Matchplay Championship when nominating for the Club Championships.  

 SENIORS CHAMPIONSHIP

To be played in conjunction with the 1st and 3rd rounds of the Club Championships.   Trophies awarded for Gross events in (55-59), (60-64), (65-69), and (70+) divisions.   Players are asked to nominate for the appropriate category by marking all their cards accordingly.   In the event of a tie in any age group, a countback will be conducted by the Match Committee to decide the winner of the Senior Championships.  The T. H. Chilla Dowling Trophy will be awarded to the best 36 hole gross score by any player aged 55 years or over.

 JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP - K. Caban Trophy

To be played in conjunction with the 2nd and 4th rounds of the Club Championships. Players are asked to nominate for the Junior Championship by marking all their cards accordingly. In the event of a tie in the gross event, a countback will be conducted by the Match Committee to decide the winner of the Junior Championship.

 FOURSOMES CHAMPIONSHIP

The Foursomes Championship will be played over 27 holes on Saturday 24/07/2010.   Grades will be determined by dividing the field in half.   Motor buggies permitted in Gross and Nett events.   In the event of a tie, a countback will be conducted by the Match Committee to decide the winner of the Foursomes Championships.

 MIXED FOURSOMES

The Mixed Foursomes Championship will be played over 27 holes on Sunday 27/6/2010. Motor buggies permitted in Gross and Nett events.   In the event of a tie, a countback will be conducted by the Match Committee to decide the winner of the Mixed Foursomes.

 MONTHLY MEDAL                                       

Medal rounds are normally held on the first Saturday of every month.  The Medal of Medals is played in conjunction with the March Monthly Medal, 27/3/2010.

 PRESIDENT'S v CAPTAIN'S MATCH

4BBB Stableford played 20/11/2010 followed by Presentation of Major Trophies and Dinner.

 PEGLER SHIELD

The Pegler Shield is donated by the Club in honour of the late Keith Pegler, past Club Patron and Club Captain 1956-64.   The Pegler Shield shall be played as an Aggregate Stableford teams event of four on Saturday 20/2/2010.   The ball run down will be allocated on the teams score.

 TED SMITH MEMORIAL STABLEFORD

Single Stableford played 3/04/2009.

 EASTER FESTIVAL OF GOLF

Single Stableford in Grades and Divisions played on Easter Sunday and Monday.  Trophies awarded daily, and Classic Title played over two rounds.   Played 4/04/2010 & 5/04/2010.

 E.D. PIKE MEMORIAL EVENT

Olympic Event, best aggregate points against par value, commencing with Stroke 6/11/2010, Stableford, with double points in the Single v Par round.

 4BBB STABLEFORD MATCHPLAY KNOCKOUT.  

Qualifying round will be played on Saturday 29/05/2010 (16 pairs to qualify).

 JUNIOR CLASSIC

A Bill Kennedy and Greg Norman qualifying event Played 30/5/2010.  In the event of a tie in the gross events, a three-hole playoff (1, 2 & 18) will take place immediately following the conclusion of play. 

 SOUTHPORT CLASSIC

Single Stroke played 4/9/2009.  Handicaps 5-18.  In the event of a tie, a countback will be conducted by the Match Committee to decide the winner of the Southport Classic.

 GOLD COAST OPEN

The most prestigious event on the calendar will be played Sunday 15/8/2010.  Handicaps 1-5 with possible ballot; 36-hole shotgun event.   In the event of a tie in the gross events, a three-hole playoff (1, 2 & 18) will take place immediately following the conclusion of play. 

 PRESIDENT'S TROPHY

Single Stableford played 31/07/2010.

 E.F. DOYLE MEMORIAL TROPHY

Aggregate nett stroke, teams of four   Played 21/08/2010, ball run down on teams score.

 CAPTAIN'S TROPHY

Single Stableford played 18/9/2010.

 ACTON INSURANCE AGGREGATE

Teams of 4 Aggregate Stableford sponsored by Brian Oberman of General Insurance Brokers, played 17/7/2010 (Honour Board Event).

 PLAYER OF THE YEAR

The player with the best 10 scores from the 12 designated single stableford events held on Saturdays from January to November will be crowned the ?Player of the Year? at the Annual Presentation Night.
