The Southport Golf Club encourages junior membership as juniors are the future of our Club. As the leading member owned club on the coast Southport is a leader in junior development.
We invite beginners to Sunday morning clinics starting at 8am. Young golfers will be guided by PGA Professionals who are experienced players in the fundamentals of the game in a fun and relaxed environment.
You don't need to be a member of any Golf Club just ring the golf shop on 07 5532 1577 and make a booking. The joining fee for this squad is $15 and there is a $3 charge for each coaching session. These funds are redistributed as prizes and incentives each week, and provides an outstanding introduction to the game of golf ! Juniors don't even need any equipment, it is all provided.
The next step as junior golfers reach a level of proficiency where they can play club competitions they are encouraged to become junior members of Southport Golf Club. This allows juniors to partake in Club events and use the outstanding facilities the Club has to offer.
Practice sessions are even held for junior members each Wednesday afternoon at 3.45pm.
More advanced junior golfers are invited to play in our junior Inter-Club and Pennants competitions. These are for juniors with varying degrees of skill, and introduce juniors to Match play competition that is an exciting and challenging format.
