LOCAL RULES

 

(TO BE READ IN CONJUNCTION WITH RULES OF GOLF AND ANY TEMPORARY LOCAL RULES DISPLAYED ON THE NOTICE BOARD)

 

Out of Bounds (Rule 27-1).

  • Beyond any fence bounding the golf course
  • Beyond white stakes with black tops
  • Beyond white squares with black dots on the kerb LHS of the entry road. A ball which crosses the LHS kerb of the entry road, and comes to rest beyond that point is out of bounds, even though it might lie on another part of the course

 

Water Hazards and Lateral Water Hazards (Rule 26).

  • Water hazards: defined by yellow stakes or lines
  • Lateral water hazards: defined by red stakes or lines
  • A ball entering the water hazard behind the 4th green defined by blue stakes may be dropped in the nearest designated drop zone

 

Ground Under Repair (Rule 25).

  • Defined by white stakes, lines or signs
  • Clearly defined deep wheel ruts
  • Erosion in bunkers
  • Gardens and hedges are NOT GUR unless so marked

 

Immovable Obstructions (Rule 24-2 & Specimen Local Rule 6).

  • Stakes defining water hazards and GUR
  • Safety screens
  • Tree protection screens
  • Staked trees and shrubs
  • Traffic directional signs, stakes and ropes
  • Sprinkler heads, close to green, specimen local rule 6 applies (page 134)
  • Retaining Walls

 

Movable Obstructions: Stones in bunkers. Rule 24-1 applies.

 

Relief for Embedded Ball.

  • Specimen Local Rule 4 applies on page 125 of the 2008 – 2011 Edition of the Rules of Golf.

 

Penalty for Breach of Local Rules.

  • Stroke play-two strokes
  • Match play- loss of hole


 

FLAG COLOURS

White - front of green. Yellow - middle of green. Check - rear of green.

 

DISTANCES

All measurements are metres to centre of green including 150 metre markers located on either side of fairways.  The use of measuring devices is permitted.

 

MOBILE PHONES

Are not permitted to be used or switched on whilst on the course unless a medical emergency exists.
